Ely Millon

Emerging Professional, Designer I

As a designer at AERO, Ely Millon takes a human-centered approach to the built environment. His professional background includes extensive work on affordable housing developments, where he gained critical insight into the full project lifecycle, from initial inception through construction. Driven by a desire to give back to the South Central Los Angeles community where he grew up, Ely strives to create inclusive and comfortable spaces that prioritize the needs of their occupants.

Ely’s relationship with design began at a young age, assisting his grandfather with carpentry, floor plans, fixtures, and millwork, resulting in an early apprenticeship that made pursuing architecture a natural progression. His work frequently explores the intersection of experimentation and social advocacy, specifically focusing on Afro-centric typologies and social justice for underrepresented communities. By merging his personal interests in art and music with architectural theory, he develops designs that are both culturally resonant and technically rigorous.

Ely holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the College of Environmental Design at Cal Poly Pomona. In his personal life, he finds inspiration through various creative outlets, particularly music; as a guitar player, he enjoys the intimate connection to the artists who played before him. When he isn’t designing buildings, Ely can be found hunting for second-hand furniture, working on new crafts, or exploring local restaurants and cafes.
